Background

Background

Background
Toy Regulation SOR/2011-17 is the primary Canadian regulation on market access for toy products, which has both technical requirements and testing methods. ISO 8124
Background 
The toy safety standard ISO 8124 is an attempt by the International Organization for Standardization to establish a comprehensive set of testing methods and/or uniform standards for toy products, aiming to "minimize potential hazards associated with toys."
The international standard ISO 8124 was drafted by ISO/TC 181, the Technical Committee for Toy Safety, and is primarily modeled after the EU's EN-71 and the US's ASTM F963.
